Minor injuries reported after small plane crashes into Long Beach Airport building

On Monday, July 10, 2023, a small plane crashed into a hangar building at Long Beach Airport, causing minimal disruption to commercial flights. Firefighters promptly responded to multiple reports of the incident at around 2:18 p.m. The pilot, the sole occupant of the plane, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized. Long Beach Fire Capt. Jake Heflin confirmed that there were no other individuals on board. Additionally, approximately 45 gallons of fuel leaked from the plane, resulting in a response from first responders.
