Mike Perry Claims ‘King of Violence’ Title with Eddie Alvarez Corner Stoppage Win and Conor McGregor Callout

Former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez might be known as “The Underground King,” but he’s not the “King of Violence.” That title now belongs to Mike Perry.

Perry proved his toughness in Saturday night’s BKFC 56 headliner as he absorbed Alvarez’s punches and retaliated with relentless strikes, causing Alvarez’s corner to stop the fight after the second round.

The match was a fast-paced, intense four minutes of action between Perry and Alvarez. Following Round 2, Alvarez had a discussion with his corner and seemed to indicate that he couldn’t see out of his swollen left eye. Without a medical examination, Alvarez’s corner made the decision to end the fight.

Alvarez may have been disheartened by the fight’s outcome. He threw everything he had at Perry, but the new “King of Violence” appeared unfazed. Perry stated before BKFC 56 that he would move forward relentlessly, and that’s exactly what he did.

“I work on the head movement and sh*t, but the last fight went so easily, I just wanted to have a battle, so I let him get some shots off,” Perry said. … “Who owns combat sports now? The ‘King of Violence’ Platinum Mike Perry!”

Perry’s victory at BKFC 56 brings his record to 4-0 in the promotion, following wins over Julian Lane, Michael Page, Luke Rockhold, and now Alvarez. Since his departure from the UFC in 2021, Perry has become the face of BKFC.

After the match, Perry called out the biggest name in the UFC to face him in the ring.

“Conor McGregor would be a great matchup,” Perry said. “I just beat somebody he fought for a world title. Who’s bigger than that, though? There’s nobody bigger than Conor McGregor except me?”

Perry and McGregor had a face-off in April after he defeated Rockhold. BKFC president David Feldman has expressed a desire to see McGregor fight in the promotion.

Who better to meet than the new “King of Violence”?
