Microsoft Developing Alexa-Style Search Engine to Compete with Google

Microsoft is making a bold move to challenge Google’s search engine monopoly by joining forces with an AI robot supported by Elon Musk. The tech giant, known for its Windows and Office software, is collaborating with OpenAI on its groundbreaking ChatGPT software. This chatbot has amazed the technology world with its ability to provide human-like responses, rivaling Amazon’s Alexa and posing a potential threat to Google’s search tools. Microsoft aims to incorporate ChatGPT into its Bing search engine, which has been struggling to compete with Google. If all goes well, the integration could happen as early as March, according to The Information.

Since its launch in 2009, Microsoft’s Bing has struggled to gain a competitive edge in the search engine market. Google currently dominates with approximately 90% of all global search queries, while Bing accounts for only around 3%. OpenAI’s technology has even raised concerns within Google, with executives reportedly viewing it as a serious threat to their search dominance. Google researchers also have reservations about ChatGPT’s answer accuracy.

OpenAI, founded by tech entrepreneur Sam Altman in 2015 with the support of Elon Musk, has been dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence research. Although Musk stepped down from OpenAI’s board in 2018, he has since criticized the company for issues related to transparency and governance.
