After nearly three weeks, Michael Strahan finally made his return to Good Morning America on Wednesday. The former NFL star-turned-television-host had been dealing with a “personal family matter” which kept him off the air of the morning news program since Oct. 26.
Upon his return, co-hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos warmly welcomed Strahan back at the top of the show, expressing tears of joy at his comeback.
Although Strahan did not directly address the personal issue, he enthusiastically jumped back into work, joining Roberts and Stephanopoulos in an interview with Chris Pine, the Super Bowl champion showing no signs of slowing down.
Chris Pine says he wanted to be an MLB player before pursuing acting!

Strahan also made his return to Fox NFL Sunday on Nov. 12 after a two-week hiatus, without directly addressing his absence on that program either. The athlete celebrated Veterans Day at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, broadcasting live from there, highlighting his father’s military background. Strahan’s regular Monday morning appearances on Good Morning America are often missed due to his commitments with Fox.
Fans had noticed Strahan’s absence in recent weeks, prompting the network to issue a statement earlier this month, reassuring everyone that Strahan was dealing with personal family matters and expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and concern.
In an update, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Strahan was doing okay, but acknowledged his significant presence at GMA and the universal adoration for him. The hope was for his swift return to work.
