Met Police Investigating Allegations of Covid Rule-Breaking by Tory MP Bernard Jenkin
The Metropolitan Police are investigating allegations of Covid rule-breaking, including a drinks event in Parliament attended by one of Boris Johnson’s leading Partygate inquisitors, Tory MP Bernard Jenkin.
Following their probe last year, the police have now revealed that they are “assessing information and new material in relation to a number of allegations of breaches of Covid Regulations dating back to 2020 and 2021.”
During their Operation Hillman investigation, the police issued 126 fines for pandemic law-breaking in Downing Street and across Whitehall.
However, since the Partygate investigation concluded, additional claims of coronavirus regulation breaches have emerged.
Scotland Yard stated that they are now evaluating a report by the Cabinet Office regarding “potential breaches of the regulations between June 2020 and May 2021 at Downing Street and Chequers.”
