In a heartfelt video, the couple shared that allowing their son to have an Instagram account was their special gift for his 15th birthday.
“Happy Birthday Levi Alves McConaughey,” McConaughey greeted at the start of the video. “Happy Birthday, buddy,” added Alves McConaughey.
In the video, McConaughey mentioned that his wife had reservations about their son joining Instagram and revealed that they had been discussing it for three years.
Alves McConaughey explained that despite their friends having accounts for a while, they held off. However, McConaughey emphasized that Levi knows his identity and aims, stating that their son has an incredible story to share.
“I want to let all y’all know, you’re getting a very cool and respectful young man in Levi McConaughey coming at you,” continued the Oscar winner.

Levi, who has already amassed over 105,000 followers since joining Instagram, is the oldest of their three children. They also have a daughter, Vida, 13, and another son, Livingston, 10.
In his first post, captioned “happy to be here,” Levi shared a video montage featuring various clips and photos from his life, including surfing, snowboarding, and family moments.
The background music for the montage included “Walking on a Dream” by the Australian duo Empire of the Sun. Additionally, there was a clip of McConaughey reciting his famous lines from “Dazed and Confused,” emphasizing the importance of living life on one’s own terms.
