Maruti Suzuki witnesses 1% decline in production for September: An SEO-friendly update


Maruti Suzuki India reported a 1% decline in overall vehicle production for September, with a total of 174,978 units manufactured. This figure is slightly lower than the 177,468 units produced during the same month in 2022.

In particular, the entry-level models Alto and S-Presso experienced a significant drop in production, decreasing by 70% from 35,887 units to 10,705 units in September.

Similarly, other popular models including the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR also saw a decrease in production, totaling 90,849 units compared to 92,717 units in September last year.

Mid-sized vehicle Ciaz followed this trend with a production of 2,304 units, down from 2,654 units in September 2022.

On the other hand, utility vehicles like the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, and Jimny witnessed an increase in production, reaching 56,579 units compared to 29,811 units in the same period last year.

Overall, passenger car manufacturing decreased by 21% to 103,858 units in September, a decline from 131,258 units in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the total number of passenger vehicles produced slightly decreased from 173,929 units in September 2022 to 173,451 units.

The Super Carry light commercial vehicle experienced a significant decline in production, dropping from 3,539 units in September 2022 to 1,527 units in September 2023.
