Marilyn Manson, the controversial rock artist, has been sentenced to 20 hours of community service and a fine in connection with a 2019 assault incident in New Hampshire. According to the AP, Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. The assault occurred at a concert, where Manson allegedly blew his nose on a videographer. Despite requesting to appear via video, the judge required Manson to attend the court hearing in person. He wore a black suit during the proceedings. The fine imposed on Manson amounted to over $1,400, with $200 of it suspended. Manson did not make a statement in court, but a statement from the victim was read, expressing her hope that Manson would reconsider his actions in the future.

Marilyn Manson surrenders to the police without attracting much attention. The rock star turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department on July 2, with the intention of dealing with the assault charges he is facing in New Hampshire, according to WMUR. Manson, whose birth name is Brian Warner, received a court date to appear in Laconia’s district court, with instructions to stay away from the alleged victim until then. He was released on personal recognizance bail. The charges against the 52-year-old artist stem from an incident during his concert at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford in August 2019. A videographer claims that Manson spat and threw snot at her. A warrant for his arrest was issued in October of that year.

Manson’s attorney has dismissed the claims as “ludicrous” and argues that the charges originated from the videographer’s attempt to extort $35,000 from the singer. It’s important to note that these allegations are separate from the multiple sexual abuse accusations against Manson, as emphasized by the Gilford Police Department, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. One of Manson’s accusers, his ex-girlfriend Ashley Morgan Smithline, recently filed a lawsuit against him, making her the fourth woman to do so. Smithline told People that she wants Manson to be held accountable for the “terrible abuse” she claims to have endured. In response to the lawsuit, a spokesperson for Manson stated that there are numerous falsehoods in her claims. (Read more Marilyn Manson stories.)
