Mariah Carey’s 12-Year-Old Twins Surprise Her with a Special Billboard Music Award After Festive Holiday Performance

Make way, it’s officially the midst of the holiday season, and the Queen of Christmas has thawed out from cryosleep!

Mariah Carey graced the stage at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (Nov. 19) to deliver an unforgettable performance of her iconic holiday anthem “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Clad in a pristine white figure skater dress, complete with matching go-go boots and sunglasses, the iconic songstress lit up the stage with her rendition of the track in the middle of an “ice-skating rink,” as her talented dancers on wheels glided around on the white floor encircling her in a Debbie Allen-choreographed sequence.

The audience members were meticulously selected in a landmark collaboration between the BBMAs and Spotify Fans First, who joined forces to identify fans who have binged the most hours of music over the past year, propelling their favorite artists to the zenith of the Billboard charts.

Carey was also bestowed with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for the timeless holiday classic, and the honor was bestowed upon her by none other than her 12-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

Billboard has been an integral part of my life for a very long time now,” expressed Carey in her gracious acceptance speech. “Even though I don’t readily acknowledge time, I must admit that some of my most indelible career moments are intertwined with Billboard and the BBMAs. One thing I profoundly appreciate is the unwavering support of my fans, who have stood by me through the hits, the misses, the No. 1s and the Bubbling Unders.”
