The body double for Margot Robbie in the upcoming film “Barbie” has revealed that she was intentionally kept in the dark about the exact plot of the highly anticipated movie during her time on set.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Emma Eastwood, a 26-year-old who worked as a body double for Robbie, shared her experience working on the film. Eastwood explained that this was her first time serving as a body double, as she initially applied to be an extra in the movie but was turned down. Despite spending two weeks on set, Eastwood admitted that her knowledge of the movie’s plot is still limited.

She said, “They did an excellent job of keeping the plot hidden.” Eastwood also mentioned that she was never provided with any information about the scenes she would be involved in until she arrived on set. Even then, she wasn’t given any context for her scenes and had to rely on direction from the production team.

In one particular scene, which briefly appears in the movie’s trailer, Eastwood had to simulate walking up a staircase while portraying the character’s discomfort. Another scene required her to lie facedown on the ground for an hour, resulting in her makeup smearing on the floor. Despite her time on set, Eastwood admitted, “I have no idea what that scene was about.”

Eastwood also revealed that she was often mistaken for Margot Robbie herself on set, and even Robbie struggled to tell them apart when reviewing footage.

“Barbie,” featuring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and Will Ferrell, will be released in theaters on July 21.
