Ferdinand Slams Man United’s ‘Embarrassing’ Defending

Rio Ferdinand has hit out at Manchester United’s defending during their 3-2 Champions League defeat by Galatasaray on Tuesday night, branding their defence as ’embarrassing’ before claiming they were ‘cut open like a knife through butter.’

United added another defeat to their underwhelming start to the new season, with Wilfried Zaha returning to Old Trafford to open the scoring for the Turkish club, with Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi also finding the back of the net for the visitors. For United it’s their second straight loss on the bounce following their 1-0 defeat by Crystal palace, and Ferdinand, on punditry for TNT Sports lambasted his former side’s defending after the match.

Manchester United fans were left enraged after a video emerged showing Galatasaray supporters appearing in multiple stands of the home end at Old Trafford following their shock 3-2 loss on Tuesday.

The Red Devils continued their chaotic start to the season with a sixth defeat in ten games as Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Azturkoglu and Mauro Icardi all netted to heap misery on Erik ten Hag’s side. Rasmus Hojlund had netted a double for United earlier, but could not inspire his team to victory. To add insult to injury, United fans noticed Galatasaray fans celebrating the result in the home end, with hordes of the travelling supporters dotted around Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s Man United Job is ‘SAFE’

Manchester United have no intention of replacing Erik ten Hag as manager and retain ‘firm confidence’ in the Dutchman. After achieving an impressive debut campaign, Ten Hag has presided over a dismal run of form which has yielded six losses in their first 10 games including back-to-back defeats in the Champions League. Tuesday night’s 3-2 home loss to Galatasaray – their second in as many games at Old Trafford – ended with a chorus of boos.

Rasmus Hojlund Turns Spotlight on Defence

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has turned the spotlight back on his defensive teammates – a day after Raphael Varane called out the attackers to be more ruthless – after they conceded three goals in their defeat by Galatasaray. United’s season went from bad to worse after they were beaten 3-2 by Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night, which saw the £72million summer signing strike twice on a breakout night for him in the famous red shirt. But it all proved in vain as Galatasaray struck three times to condemn Erik ten Hag’s side to a sixth defeat from 10 games.

Paul Scholes Claims ‘Raphael Varane’s Legs are Looking Sluggish’

Paul Scholes has slammed Manchester United’s defending during their Champions League defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday night, while claiming Raphael Varane’s ‘legs looked sluggish’. Erik ten Hag’s side succumbed to their second straight defeat in all competitions, with Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi scoring while Rasmus Hojlund netted two goals for the home side. After the game, Paul Scholes and his former teammate Rio Ferdinand questioned Man United’s defending during the game, with Scholes expressing his concern over the 30-year-old French centre-back.

Rasmus Hojlund Urges Manchester United to ‘Stick Together’

Rasmus Hojlund has issued a rallying cry to his Manchester United teammates to stick together and ride out the storm as their season went from bad to worse in defeat to Galatasaray. The £72million summer signing struck twice on a breakout night for him in a Manchester United shirt. But it all proved in vain as Galatasaray struck three times to condemn Erik ten Hag’s side to a sixth defeat from 10 games.

Rasmus Hojlund: The Lone Bright Spark

The worst kept secret around Manchester United is that they have desperately struggled to score goals. After this one, perhaps we can add ‘can’t defend’ to the ever-growing list of problems. Anyone who has watched United this season, here or on the road, has seen it. The question Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff have been wrestling with is why. They’ve got a £72million striker leading the line in Rasmus Hojlund; they’ve got a right-wing department that cost in excess of £150m and Marcus Rashford, who scored 30 goals last season, on the left.

Richard Keys Rips into Ten Hag after Champions League Defeat

Richard Keys has wasted little time blasting Manchester United’s shock 3-2 defeat by Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night, criticising both manager Erik ten Hag and a number of players. United suffered a second successive defeat at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, having already lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. Against Turkish champions Galatasaray, they had twice taken the lead through Rasmus Hojlund, who is now the youngest player to score in both his first Champions League appearances since Erling Haaland.

Hojlund Shines but it’s a Night to Forget for Onana and Casemiro

Manchester United’s stars suffered a night to forget during their 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday night. The Red Devils suffered their second loss of the Champions League group stage after goals from Wilfried Zaha, Mauro Icardi, and Kerem Akturkoglu for the visitors. Amid the five goals, there was disaster at the back for United as Andre Onana’s sloppy pass gifted an opportunity to Galatasaray.

Mauro Icardi Scores Late Winner after Casemiro is Sent Off Following a Calamitous Mistake from Andre Onana

It’s 30 years ago this month since Manchester United trailed Galatasaray 3-2 towards the end of a Champions League tie at Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side found a way back that night – the great teams usually do – and Eric Cantona saved the day with a late equaliser. But this is not a great Manchester United team. They don’t have players like Cantona anymore. It’s a weak imitation of the legends of the past. United Lite, and that’s being generous. The latest low in what is threatening to turn into a catastrophic campaign saw the Turks inflict a sixth defeat in 10 games on Erik ten Hag’s side at Old Trafford last night.
