Man from LA County Receives 15 1/2-Year Prison Sentence for Involvement in Heroin Ring

A resident from Westlake Village has been sentenced to 15 1/2 years in federal prison for his involvement in a drug ring responsible for distributing heroin to a young individual who tragically died from an overdose. Bradford Shepley, aged 38, will also have to serve six years of supervised release subsequent to his incarceration, as ordered by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Shepley had pleaded guilty in May to a federal offense of conspiring to possess heroin with the intent to distribute. Court documents from Los Angeles federal court showed that prosecutors suggested a maximum sentence of 15 1/2 years, taking into account Shepley’s previous conviction for a serious drug-related offense.
