Man Accused of Killing Ex-Wife Following Violation of Protective Order

An Oklahoma man has been accused of killing his ex-wife and abducting their 5-year-old son, despite the woman’s prior warning to police about his behavior. The suspect, Chase Ainsworth, 34, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his ex-wife, Samantha Ainsworth, 31.

In addition to the murder charge, Ainsworth is also facing charges of child stealing after fleeing the scene with his son, according to a statement by the Oklahoma City police. The incident occurred after police responded to a domestic disturbance call and discovered Samantha Ainsworth collapsed and covered in blood in her bedroom. She later died at the hospital.

Authorities located Chase Ainsworth and the 5-year-old boy barricaded in a home approximately 4.5 miles away from the crime scene. Thankfully, the child was found unharmed, and the father was taken into custody.

The couple had divorced last year after a decade of marriage, and Samantha Ainsworth had filed for a protective order against Chase Ainsworth in February. He had violated the order twice, with the police issuing a warning after the first violation. The following day, Samantha Ainsworth reported another incident in which her ex-husband attempted to break into her home. He was subsequently charged with stalking.

According to court documents, Chase Ainsworth had sent his ex-wife threatening text messages, stating that she will “continue to be his prophet until I leave this earth.”
