Edwin Castro Adds Vintage Porsches to Expanding Car Collection
Last year, Edwin Castro, a 31-year-old California native, made headlines when he won the historic $2 billion Powerball Jackpot. Since then, he has been making extravagant purchases with his newfound wealth. Castro recently acquired two vintage Porsches to add to his ever-growing car collection.
Castro’s latest purchases include a British racing green 1970s Porsche 356 and a black 1980s Porsche 911. These two new sets of wheels join his already impressive assortment of cars, which includes a white Porsche 911 from the 1980s, a grey Ram 1500 TRX, and three Volkswagen Karmann Ghias (two black and one red).
The vintage Porsches were brought to Castro’s luxurious Bel Air mansion, where he personally inspected the vehicles. This large property, which he purchased last month for $47 million, boasts seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a captivating koi pond, and a grand infinity pool.
The Lavish Lifestyle of Edwin Castro
Ever since his life-changing win, Edwin Castro has been living a life of luxury. In addition to his car collection, he has purchased three separate mansions in California, totaling $76 million.
One of his homes is located in the Hollywood Hills and is worth $25 million. Castro later acquired an even larger $40 million mansion in Bel Air. Additionally, he owns a $4 million estate in Altadena. The Altadena property offers privacy and stunning views of Los Angeles.
Each of these homes is equipped with extravagant features like DJ turntables, a champagne tasting room, and a suspended glass walkway. The properties also include amenities such as gyms, wine cellars, infinity pools, and home theaters.
Castro’s generous nature is evident in his statement upon winning the Powerball drawing. He expressed his desire for the California public school system to benefit from his win, as the system serves as a beneficiary of the state lottery.
Controversy Surrounding Edwin Castro’s Winning Ticket
Despite his incredible luck, Edwin Castro faced a lawsuit claiming that he was not the rightful owner of the winning ticket. Jose Rivera accused Castro of stealing the ticket from him.
The Pasadena Police Department investigated the claim, but it was eventually discovered that Rivera had filed a false police report. If convicted, Rivera could face jail time, fines, and probation.
The California Lottery stands by their vetting process and firmly believes that Edwin Castro is the rightful winner of the $2.04 billion Powerball prize from the November 2022 drawing.
