Longtime Euclid Fire Chief Set to Retire After 33 Years of Dedicated Service

On November 24, the city of Euclid bid farewell to Fire Chief Christopher Haddock as he retired after 33 years of dedicated service to the department.

During the city council meeting on November 20, Haddock’s retirement was announced. He had taken on the role of fire chief in 2014 and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity while looking forward to his retirement.

Reflecting on his extensive career, Haddock shared, “I had the privilege of serving in every rank of the Euclid Fire Department. The past decade as fire chief has been the most challenging, but I can confidently say that I gave it my all. I am incredibly thankful for this experience.”

Emotionally addressing Assistant Fire Chief Will Anderson, Haddock expressed his deep appreciation for Anderson’s unwavering support and friendship over the years.

Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer-Gail acknowledged Haddock’s significant contributions to the department, particularly his efforts to enhance safety training and successfully implement the department’s first community-driven strategic plan.

Following a small celebration, Haddock received a proclamation from the City Council, recognizing his remarkable tenure and service to the city of Euclid.
