Authorities have apprehended a 33-year-old homeless man in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Long Beach. The suspect, Carlos Alberto Jimenez Hernandez, was arrested at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday in the vicinity of Anaheim Street and Pacific Avenue. Another individual had previously been apprehended in relation to the shooting death of Isaac Marshall IV.
The incident occurred on June 27 when police received a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered Isaac Marshall IV with an upper body gunshot wound. Sadly, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was engaged in a physical altercation with two male suspects outside a business. After leaving the scene, the victim returned to the business in his vehicle and parked outside. While he was inside his vehicle, the two suspects approached and assaulted him. During the altercation, one of the suspects shot the victim. Police arrived shortly after the shooting and apprehended one of the suspects. The second suspect fled on foot and is still at large.
The first suspect, identified as Darrell Brock, 24, a resident of Pennsylvania, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently held in custody with bail set at $2 million. Carlos Alberto Jimenez Hernandez, the second suspect, was also arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held on the same bail amount.
