It was a triumphant night for the Paul brothers.
First and foremost, Logan Paul emerged victorious over Ricochet at WWE’s SummerSlam held in Detroit’s Ford Field on Saturday night.
Naturally, the 28-year-old social media influencer and part-time WWE star had the aid of brass knuckles.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul, aged 26, achieved a unanimous decision victory over Nate Diaz during their 10-round bout later in the night at Dallas’ American Airlines Center.
The result, however, failed to please the sold-out crowd, who were fervently supporting 38-year-old MMA star Diaz as he made his professional boxing debut.
Nevertheless, Jake Paul had at least one fan in attendance – his brother Logan. After his win at SummerSlam, Logan immediately boarded his private jet and accompanied Jake to his fight.
“I’m not changing, I’m not getting a medical check, I’m going right to the f—ing jet,” Logan told ESPN’s Marc Raimondi. “No shower, no nothing. Immediate from A to B to C… I’ve never missed a Jake Paul fight, and I don’t plan on missing a Jake Paul fight. He’s my little brother, and I want to support him in the biggest moments of his life.”
And his younger brother did not disappoint, as the judges scored the fight 97-92, 98-91, and 98-91 in favor of Jake.
Similar to his older brother, the ever-confident Jake, who knocked Diaz down in the fifth round, stated that he was certain he had won the fight and believed he only lost one round.
“Although he’s a warrior, you know? I had him hurt in the first round, he kept on coming, and no one’s taken that much damage,” said Paul.
The younger Paul, who now boasts a 7-1 record in his boxing career, expressed his admiration for Diaz’s resilience.
“He’s really tough,” Paul remarked regarding Diaz. “That’s what he’s renowned for. However, being tough in this sport doesn’t suffice.”
Paul, who bounced back from his initial defeat to Tommy Fury in February, continued his winning streak against MMA fighters. He previously defeated Ben Askren with a first-round knockout, triumphed over Tyron Woodley by decision and sixth-round knockout, and outlasted Anderson Silva by unanimous decision.
Although Jake’s victory was definitive and not premeditated, Logan demonstrated his perpetual focus on marketing.
