Jurgen Klopp confirmed the deal on Friday, revealing that Liverpool could pay around £110 million for Caicedo. Chelsea, on the other hand, has made several offers, with their latest bid being £80 million, significantly below Brighton’s valuation of the player. Klopp expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating, “I can confirm the deal with Brighton is agreed… we want the player and not any kind of agreement.” However, he acknowledged the financial limitations of the club, particularly considering unexpected departures during the summer.
Regarding Caicedo’s medical and whether he would be Liverpool’s final signing before the transfer window closes, Klopp remained tight-lipped, saying, “Let’s do it step by step, let’s see what happens in the next hours or days.”
