Man Suspected in Massacre Found Dead, No Longer a Threat
The man suspected in Wednesday’s massacre that left 18 people dead in Lewiston, Maine, has been found deceased, authorities confirmed Friday night. The subject of a dayslong manhunt following the mass shootings at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley and Schemengees Bar and Grille, Robert Card’s body was discovered in Lisbon. Maine Governor Janet Mills shared the news, expressing relief that the threat had been eliminated.
Gunman’s Death Confirmed
During a press conference, Governor Mills informed the public that the man responsible for the fatal shooting had been found dead with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. His body was located by Maine State Police at 7:45 p.m. Chief David St. Pierre of the Lewiston Police acknowledged the end of the threat to the community but urged to focus on the grieving families and the efforts of law enforcement.

All 18 victims who lost their lives in the Lewiston shootings have been publicly identified. As authorities continue to investigate the tragic incident, relief spreads throughout Maine.
