At the age of 31, Leigh-Anne Pinnock rose to fame as part of the girl band Little Mix, winning The X Factor in 2011. Alongside Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Jesy Nelson, she spent a decade in the group before they took a break.

In 2021, Pinnock presented the BBC Three documentary “Leigh-Anne: Race, Pop & Power” which delved into her experiences as the only black member of Little Mix and explored discrimination within the music industry.
