Legal Counterclaim Alleges MrBeast’s Involvement in Erasing Burger Brand’s Irish Launch Posts

In late July, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, filed a lawsuit against Virtual Dining Concepts (VDC), the company operating his fast-food chain MrBeast Burger. He accused the company of serving “inedible” food that had damaged his reputation irreparably. He sought to terminate the arrangement and claimed that VDC provided low-quality products.

VDC, responsible for fulfilling and delivering MrBeast Burgers, responded by saying that the lawsuit contained false statements and inaccuracies. They filed a counterclaim against MrBeast last month, seeking over $100 million in damages. VDC alleged that Donaldson failed to fulfill his contractual obligations, including promotional work and support for MrBeast Burger. They also claimed that he made untrue and disparaging statements, resulting in significant financial harm and harm to the restaurant’s reputation.

According to the lawsuit, on April 21, 2023, VDC announced the launch of MrBeast Burger in Mexico and Ireland on the brand’s social media accounts. However, the company claims that later that day, Donaldson’s management team unexpectedly deleted the posts and changed the login credentials, denying VDC access to the accounts. The lawsuit argues that social media is crucial for promoting and communicating with fans, customers, and potential customers, and the inability to do so has led to a decline in sales for MrBeast Burger.

VDC further alleges that the deleted Irish post was just the beginning of Donaldson’s actions against them. They claim that he made malicious online remarks about the brand. The lawsuit also mentions Donaldson’s claim that VDC used his name and image to launch MrBeast Burger in Ireland without his permission, which he considers a clear violation of their agreement. The lawsuit includes an alleged image related to Ireland, showing MrBeast with a burger and an Irish flag in the background.

MrBeast Burger was launched in Ireland in April by OME, a tech firm spawned from Irish ghost kitchen company Hosted. OME has refrained from commenting on the dispute, stating that it is between VDC and Beast Investments LLC. They emphasize their commitment to quality control, as all partners involved are committed to maintaining high standards.

MrBeast’s representatives have not provided any comments on the allegations.
