Lawsuit Filed Over Connecticut Home Constructed on Vacant Lot without LI Doctor’s Consent

A Long Island doctor has filed a federal lawsuit, claiming that a fraud scheme has resulted in the construction of a nearly $1.5 million house on his family’s vacant lot in Connecticut without his knowledge. Dr. Daniel Kenigsberg discovered the partially constructed three-story house on his property when he visited the lot. The luxurious home features four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and has replaced what was once a forested area. Kenigsberg expressed his shock and disbelief at the situation, stating that he had been unaware of any developments until recently. According to the lawsuit, the property was fraudulently transferred to Sky Top Partners LLC for $350,000 in October 2022. However, Kenigsberg claims that he never authorized the sale and that his signature was forged. The defendants in the lawsuit are Sky Top Partners and Anthony Monelli, the lawyer involved in the transaction. Kenigsberg became aware of the situation when a childhood friend mentioned the construction on his land, prompting him to investigate further. He visited the property and saw the under-construction house, which was listed for sale at $1,475,000. The lot has been in Kenigsberg’s family since 1953 when his father purchased it, and he obtained the deed after his mother passed away in 2007. Although the defendants are not accused of orchestrating the scheme, the lawsuit alleges that they should have been aware of the fraud. Kenigsberg’s lawyer mentioned the presence of similar scams occurring elsewhere in the country. The police have initiated a criminal investigation to determine who received money from the buyers. The lawsuit seeks to invalidate the deed transfer and have the house demolished, and construction on the property has been halted. Kenigsberg expressed his anger and frustration at the negligence that allowed this situation to occur, emphasizing that the property was never for sale. He described the events as offensive and wrong.
