Representative Lauren Boebert embodies the dichotomy of contrasting impulses. A Politico profile points out her attempt to rehabilitate her image as an attention-seeker clashing with her far-right allies on the House floor. After narrowly winning reelection in her firmly red Colorado district, Boebert aims to reshape her reputation by adopting a more conventional approach, including cooperating with Democratic leaders in her state despite advocating for impeachment in Washington, D.C. According to a local GOP official, Boebert has successfully moderated her stance. This dramatic shift contrasts with her previous support for QAnon and the controversy surrounding an alleged mass-diarrhea incident at her restaurant.

However, it seems that Boebert is struggling to completely abandon her disruptive tendencies. Just hours before the aforementioned story about her image makeover, the Denver Post reported her ejection from a Beetlejuice musical performance for being unruly and ignoring requests to lower her volume. According to an incident report from Denver Arts & Venues, the operator of the Buell Theatre, Boebert was vaping, singing, and recording the musical, which led to four separate complaints from other theatergoers. Theater staff instructed Boebert and her companion to be quiet, but they persisted, and eventually, ushers escorted them out during an intermission.

The incident report quotes one of the ushers saying, “They told me they would not leave. I told them that they need to leave the theater, and if they do not, they will be trespassing. The patrons said they would not leave. I told them I would go get Denver Police. They said, ‘Go get them.'”

According to the incident report, Boebert asked the usher, “Do you know who I am? I will be contacting the mayor.” The theater eventually called the police, who remained in the lobby until Boebert and her companion exited the building. Denver Arts & Venues later released security footage of the incident, although there is no accompanying audio.

Despite being dismissed from the theater, Boebert appeared untroubled as she was seen happily twirling on the street with her date. The congresswoman, known for her pro-police stance and previous arrests for alleged harassment and disorderly conduct before entering Congress, took a light-hearted approach to the incident. In a tweet, she confessed her enjoyment of the Beetlejuice musical and acknowledged her guilty pleasure of laughing and singing too loudly. A representative also confirmed the incident with the Denver Follow Google News
