Los Angeles County witnessed a continuous rise in the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline, with the price reaching $5.269. This marks the 25th consecutive day of price increases, with a total increase of 29.7 cents over the past 25 days, including a half-cent increase on Tuesday. These increases follow a recent period of six decreases in seven days, during which the price dropped by 2.2 cents.
Compared to the previous week, the average price has risen by 9.7 cents and it is now 27.7 cents higher than one month ago. However, it is still 9.6 cents lower than the price recorded one year ago. Furthermore, the current average price has significantly reduced from the record high of $6.494 on October 5, by $1.245.
In Orange County, the average price saw a slight increase of six-tenths of a cent, reaching $5.215. This comes after a small decrease of one-tenth of a cent the previous day.
Similar to the trend in Los Angeles County, the Orange County average price has risen by 9.8 cents compared to the previous week and is now 28.5 cents higher than one month ago. However, it is still 2.8 cents lower than the price recorded one year ago. The price has significantly decreased from the record high of $6.459 on October 5, dropping by $1.244.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has seen an increase for the 26th time in the past 30 days, rising by two-tenths of a cent to reach $3.875. Over the past 30 days, the price has increased by 31.2 cents, including a 1.1 cent increase on Wednesday. Compared to the previous week, the national average price has gone up by 4.7 cents and it is now 31 cents higher than one month ago. However, it is 6.8 cents lower than the price recorded one year ago.
The national average price has significantly dropped by $1.141 since reaching a record high of $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
