On National Tight Ends Day, Kyle Pitts showcased exceptional tight end skills.
The Atlanta Falcons’ talented TE made an extraordinary catch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, grabbing the ball behind his back with one hand and dragging it from his hip to his chest. All while in motion and being pursued by multiple Buccaneers defenders. He even utilized a stiff arm to fend off one of them.
This catch is truly mesmerizing and reminiscent of Pitts’ teammate, running back Bijan Robinson, who made a similarly spectacular one-handed catch earlier in October against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both players displayed incredible hand-eye coordination, catching the ball behind their backs with one hand and seamlessly bringing it to their chests as they ran.
Interestingly, while Pitts was making Bijan-esque plays against the Bucs, Bijan himself was not on the field. Head coach Arthur Smith chose to keep Robinson on the bench for almost the entire first half of Sunday’s game. According to the broadcast, Smith attributed it to Robinson ““not feeling right” before the game.” The Falcons and Bucs are currently tied 10-10 at halftime.
