Authorities in Sanford are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday night, involving a man armed with a knife who was shot after a confrontation with a food truck owner.
Responding to a report of the shooting at 3:52 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Lebanon Street, witnesses informed the police that the armed man had been walking in and out of the roadway, shouting at passing vehicles while carrying a knife.
The confrontation between the food truck owner and the knife-wielding man took place in the parking lot of T-Mobile, resulting in the shooting. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed at this time.
The wounded man was taken to Maine Medical Center and is currently listed in serious condition. It was reported that the person who discharged the firearm is cooperating with detectives as they collect evidence and conduct interviews.
