Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic has fired back at well-known British media personality Piers Morgan for his social media attack on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
On Sunday, Trudeau shared a photo of himself and his 15-year-old son Xavier on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). They were dressed in pink as they attended a screening of Barbie.
Trudeau captioned the post with “we’re Team Barbie.”
Morgan, a well-known television presenter in the U.K. with eight million followers on X, responded with the comment, “so glad I’m not Canadian.”
Vrbanovic was one of many who expressed their disagreement with Morgan’s comment.
The Kitchener mayor posted a photo of himself wearing a pink shirt from Anti-Bullying Day in response to Morgan. His message began with “hey @piersmorgan, I was raised that if I didn’t have something nice to say, it’s better not to say anything at all. Perhaps you can go and repeat that lesson.” The mayor also emphasized that “it’s okay for guys to wear pink and take their kids to movies too!”
