June 16 (UPI) — A gentleman from Kentucky found himself the winner of a $50,000 prize after purchasing a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket from a local convenience store. Robert Fisher had the fortunate experience of scratching off the ticket, revealing his unexpected windfall, while still inside the Prayosha Food Mart on Old Lebanon Road in Campbellsville. Fisher shared his excitement with officials from the Kentucky Lottery. Kentucky Lottery officials were entertained by Fisher’s reaction, as he initially couldn’t believe his eyes and had to double-check the ticket multiple times.
Overwhelmed by surprise, Fisher headed to his local Walmart store where one of his friends works as a clerk. He confidently dropped the winning ticket on the counter, asking, “Can you cash this for me?” His friend, amazed, replied, “Well, I don’t know, but I’ll try.” Fisher laughed in disbelief. After a short wait, she returned to him with astonishment, exclaiming, “Good lord, where did you get that at?”
