Contrary to their sentimental words, court documents obtained by The Post reveal that their true motive was financial gain. The estate, boasting over 9,100 square feet and eight bedrooms, was seen as an opportunity to turn a profit through monthly rentals.

Perry’s legal team has recently sought an additional $2.67 million in damages from Westcott, blaming him for the delay in their ownership of the home. They claim that their inability to rent the house, including unpaid cable bills, has caused them significant losses. However, this argument contradicts Perry’s previous statement that the estate was intended for personal use only. Perry’s lawyers presented a lease from August 2021, indicating a monthly rent of an astonishing $75,000, further supporting their claims of a rental income opportunity.

Perry and Bloom are due to go to trial next week over their $14.2 million mansion purchase. Perry is expected to testify at the Stanley Mosk courthouse. The controversial Montecito mansion, located at 1569 E. Valley Rd, was bought by the couple in July 2020, only two months after Westcott moved in. Westcott, an 83-year-old former 101st Airborne service member, now argues that he was not in the right mental state to understand the contract when he sold the property due to his poor health from Huntington’s disease and recent surgery.

Despite the legal battle, Westcott’s family maintains that their top priority is their father’s deteriorating health. They express their desire for him to spend his remaining days surrounded by family in the home he cherished. The 9,285-square-foot mansion features eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, nestled discreetly within the coveted Golden Quadrangle of Montecito.

As this real estate dispute unfolds, it is not the first time Perry has found herself entangled in property-related controversies. In 2015, she engaged in a battle with Catholic nuns over an 8-acre estate in Los Feliz, California. Though Perry emerged victorious from that skirmish, it was not without its fair share of drama, including the unfortunate death of one of the involved nuns.
