His real name is Kim Seok-jin, and he will undergo a five-week basic training course that includes marching, rifle shooting, and grenade throwing. During training, the members will share bunk beds in a cellphone-free barracks. However, Jin will be allowed limited cellphone use on weekends, and fans can send him letters that will be printed out and delivered to him.
Fans expressed concern for Jin’s well-being during his military service, particularly throughout the cold winter. They wished him the best and promised to wait for him for the duration of his service. The remaining BTS members are also expected to fulfill their compulsory military service, lasting between 18 and 21 months. Management agency Big Hit Music has stated that the group aims to reunite in 2025 after completing their service commitments.
