MANILA, Philippines — Jordan Clarkson participated in his inaugural practice with Gilas Pilipinas on Wednesday evening at Philsports Arena in Pasig City, in preparation for the Fiba World Cup 2023 slated to begin on August 25.
The NBA superstar, who arrived in Manila on Tuesday from Los Angeles, joined his teammates in a closed-door training session.
National team coach Chot Reyes shared a video on his Instagram story, showing Clarkson participating in shooting drills.
Despite his back injury, Kai Sotto was also present at the Gilas Pilipinas practice. He had been sidelined from previous training sessions and the pocket tournament in China.

Gilas Pilipinas secured three victories in the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament held in Guandong, China.
The video posted by Coach Reyes also revealed the presence of June Mar Fajardo, AJ Edu, Dwight Ramos, Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Jamie Malonzo, CJ Perez, Japeth Aguilar, Ray Parks Jr., Calvin Oftana, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftan, and Rhenz Abando during the practice.
Clarkson, who plays for the Utah Jazz, previously participated in the fourth window of the Fiba World Cup Asian Qualifiers, averaging 25.0 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds in two matches.
Clarkson and Gilas Pilipinas will kick off their World Cup campaign against the Dominican Republic on August 25 at the Philippine Arena, followed by matches against Angola on the 27th and Italy on the 29th at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
