John Cleese Tackles Challenges of Finding Guests for Provocative ‘Woke’ Discussions on GB News Show

John Cleese’s New Show “The Dinosaur Hour” to Debut on GB News

The renowned actor and comedian, known for his roles in Fawlty Towers and Monty Python, has confirmed that he will be hosting a 10-part show on GB News called “The Dinosaur Hour”. In an interview with Michelle Dewberry on GB News, Cleese expressed his desire to discuss “woke” issues on the show. He mentioned encountering resistance from individuals who refuse to engage in discussions, stating that they expect their ideas to be accepted without question.

Cleese, who is 83 years old, revealed that one of his Fawlty Towers episodes, titled “The Germans”, would likely not be made in today’s climate due to the risk of controversy. He remarked on the power of those who support woke culture, claiming that more people have been fired during this period than during McCarthyism in the 1950s. He emphasized that many people are afraid of facing repercussions and losing their jobs. However, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity GB News gave him to openly discuss these issues without interference.

Recently, Cleese criticized GB News presenter Mark Dolan on Twitter, calling him “appalling” for his comments about Meghan Markle. Despite this, Cleese praised GB News for the freedom they provided in creating his show and criticized other networks, such as the BBC, for being overly bureaucratic. He concluded by stating that working with GB News has been a joyful experience.
