Jessica Chastain Felt Nauseated Before Onstage Kiss

  • Jessica Chastain openly admitted to experiencing a nauseating moment before kissing a co-star on stage.
  • This incident took place during her recent Broadway performance of “A Doll’s House.”
  • Chastain revealed this on the “SmartLess” podcast, describing the experience as a nightmare she couldn’t explain.

Jessica Chastain, an Academy Award-winning actor, candidly revealed an unforgettable moment when she had to swallow her own vomit before kissing a co-star during a live stage performance.

Best known for her roles in acclaimed movies like “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Interstellar,” and “Molly’s Game,” Chastain received the prestigious Oscar for Best Actress in 2022 for her remarkable portrayal of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”

In addition to her film work, Chastain recently showcased her talent in a Broadway revival of “A Doll’s House.” Vogue described the production as a “starkly minimal” interpretation of the 1879 play, with Chastain delivering an outstanding performance as the struggling housewife Nora Helmer.

Regrettably, Chastain faced not only the challenges of her character’s marital struggles but also an unfortunate incident of feeling sick just moments before a kissing scene.

“I can finally share this now that the show is closed. It’s really unpleasant, but I threw up,” she revealed during an upcoming episode of the “SmartLess” podcast (via Entertainment Weekly). “I vomited and had to swallow it. And no one had any idea.”

Although unsure if nerves caused her upset stomach, Chastain recalled being overwhelmed with emotions and leaning over before the unfortunate incident occurred.

Due to the nature of live performances, Chastain had no opportunity to inform her co-star about what had happened prior to their kiss.

“I had to kiss someone! Yes! It was a nightmare, and I couldn’t explain,” Chastain stated, emphasizing that it was definitely a closed-mouth kiss.

After the performance concluded, Chastain decided to confess her ordeal to the rest of the cast.

“Immediately after the curtain call and the curtains came down, I apologized and said, ‘You guys, I’m so sorry, but I threw up,'” she shared.
