The 2023 CMAs began with an electrifying performance by the unconventional country hero, Jelly Roll, as he belted out his repentant anthem to the crowd.

The tattooed singer-rapper from Antioch, Tennessee delivered a spirited performance of “Need a Favor,” featuring an unannounced guest, Wynonna Judd.
In the song “Need a Favor,” Jelly Roll passionately sang, “Who the hell am I to expect a savior/if I only talk to God when I need a favor?” – a track from his latest album, Whitsitt Chapel. A gospel choir joined him, infusing the Bridgestone Arena crowd with a resounding “Amen” during the chorus. Wynonna Judd’s powerful performance complemented Jelly Roll, adding depth to the power ballad about forgiveness and repentance.

Jelly Roll is currently organizing what he predicts will be the largest toy drive in Nashville history. Until December 15, fans are invited to donate new, unwrapped toys at eight Walmart stores in the Nashville area, with a surprise pop-up concert by Jelly Roll kicking off the drive in the parking lot of one store.
