Jamie Foxx Apologizes for Post Perceived as Antisemitic

Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has recently issued an apology for a controversial post he shared on Instagram. The post, which Foxx clarified later, was about a personal matter; however, some of his followers interpreted it as being antisemitic.

The now-deleted post from Foxx stated: “They killed this dude named Jesus… What do you think they’ll do to you???! #fakefriends #fakelove.”

In response to the accusations, Foxx took to Instagram the following day to apologize. He wrote, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and anyone who was offended by my post. I now understand that my choice of words caused offense, and for that, I am genuinely sorry. It was never my intention.”

Foxx further explained, “To clarify, I was referring to a fake friend who betrayed me with the term ‘they.’ I meant no harm beyond that. I genuinely love and support everyone, including the Jewish community. My sincerest apologies to anyone who felt offended.”

The accusations against Foxx’s original post stem from the false belief that Jewish people were responsible for the death of Jesus Christ.

Several celebrities came to Foxx’s defense in the comments section of his post. Actor David Krumholtz, who identifies as Jewish, wrote, “I thought it was a huge stretch to call it antisemitic. I understood what you meant. Everyone needs to calm down.” Music producer Breyon Presscot added, “My brother @iamjamiefoxx, anyone who has been around you knows you have no hatred towards anyone! You’re the best, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise! Love you, bro!”

Actress Jennifer Aniston also faced criticism for liking Foxx’s original post. Clarifying her stance, she posted on her Instagram story, “This truly upsets me. I did not purposefully or accidentally ‘like’ this post.”

She emphasized, “And more importantly, I want to make it clear to my friends and anyone who was hurt by seeing this in their feed – I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. I absolutely do not tolerate any kind of HATE. Period.”
