June 26 (UPI) — Over 1,100 individuals gathered in an Irish town dressed in Dolly Parton costumes, aiming to set a Guinness World Record and raise funds for charity.

The Dolly Day event in Listowel sought to break the record for the largest gathering of people wearing a complete Dolly Parton costume from head to toe.

Participants sported blonde wigs, cowboy boots, and rhinestone-covered outfits, ultimately raising money for Kerry Hospice and Comfort for Chemo Kerry, according to organizers.

Eugene Naughton, president of Dollywood since 2019, attended the event and pledged to share pictures with Dolly Parton in hopes of convincing her to visit the town.

The evidence from the gathering will be submitted to Guinness World Records, and an official confirmation is expected within eight to twelve weeks.
