Reflecting on that moment, Peddle admitted that he almost didn’t hear his name being called because he “blacked out.” However, the screams of his family confirmed that he had indeed been chosen. His family, who had patiently waited by his side, played a significant role in his journey. They had traveled all the way from Antigonish to support him.
