Meet Nathan Edwards, the Verge’s senior reviews editor. He’s been with us for over a year, honing his craft by managing the reviews team and crafting informative buying guides. Nathan’s extensive expertise in consumer tech has been on display throughout his career, from his days at Maximum PC (RIP) to a seven-year stint at Wirecutter.

We’re about to tour his workspace. It’s a cozy study that boasts natural light and a scenic view. Nathan shares that he utilizes two desks for separate purposes. One serves as his work desk, housing his tech essentials, and the other is a multifunctional workspace that he predominantly uses for tinkering and various projects.

He’s particularly proud of his expansive desk collection, including an Xdesk Terra and an old IKEA Bekant. His Steelcase Leap chair has certainly withstood the test of time, and he also enjoys a vibrant IKEA Frosta stool.

As for tech, Nathan loves his 2020 MacBook Air, which sits atop a Rain Design stand, and his self-built Windows 11 PC in a Sliger SM550 case. Let’s not forget the 32-inch BenQ 4K monitor, the Insta360 Link webcam, or his trusty Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones and Logitech MX Master mouse.

Nathan is also an avid keyboard enthusiast and has a beautiful spread of various keyboards, including a modded 1993 IBM Model M and a vibrant Hermes 3000 typewriter, painting by his sister Naomi, and postcards from his friend Steve Schaberg, which adorn his workspace and add a personal touch.

Finally, his collection of tchotchkes includes a Flipper Zero, a Raspberry Pi, and an “intro to electronics” kit, showcasing his passion for technology and engineering.
