Salve and her brother took great pride in being Abet’s kids. They admired his accomplishments and were inspired to achieve greatness in their own lives. However, Dader made it clear that their love and support were not contingent on their achievements. He took care of his children, prioritizing their well-being above all else.
Dader had a gentle and caring nature. He understood the importance of nurturing his children’s dreams and providing guidance when they needed it. His advice was always thoughtful and delivered with seriousness, even for the simplest of problems. Only on rare occasions did he raise his voice, such as when defending his wife during an argument. His love for her was unwavering.
As Salve prepared for her wedding, Dader showed immense excitement and involvement in the planning process. He eagerly awaited updates on the wedding dress hunt and even joked that he needed tranquilizers before seeing the photos. Despite his initial reservations, he cherished the moments shared with his daughter during this special time.
Tragically, Dader passed away before he could walk Salve down the aisle. However, she finds solace in knowing that he will always be by her side and a part of their family. The memories they shared and the love he had for them will forever be cherished.
Salve, who currently works in the theater industry, with a background in marketing, public relations, and performing, recognizes the physical resemblance she has with her father as a gift. She hopes that one day her children will inherit his features, keeping his memory alive.
While the wedding plans may proceed without Dader physically present, Salve sees it as an opportunity to honor him and make him a part of their big day. She remembers their FaceTime calls, where he would lovingly “tuck her in” like a child, reminding her to rest.
On May 10, Salve walked down an alternate aisle with her father, accompanied by the song “You Raise Me Up.” It was their own intimate moment, and it was her turn to tuck him in and bid him goodnight one last time.
Salve recognizes that despite not having her father physically present at her wedding, the love and support he gave her throughout her life far surpass any missed walks down the aisle. She is grateful for the memories they shared and the lessons he taught her.
