Injustice Unveiled: ‘Soldiers of Christ’ Apprehended for Murder Following Woman’s Tragic Demise

In a shocking incident, six individuals, including a 15-year-old, claiming to be members of a religious group known as the “Soldiers of Christ,” were apprehended by the police. The arrests were made after the discovery of a woman’s remains, indicating that she had been subjected to severe beatings and starvation.

The suspects, namely Eric Hyun, Gawom Lee, Joonho Lee, Juoonhyum Lee, Hyunji Lee, and the teenager, are facing charges of false imprisonment, evidence tampering, concealing the death of another person, and murder. The Gwinnett County Police Department in Georgia made this announcement on Thursday, revealing that the woman’s body was found in the trunk of a car parked outside a spa on Tuesday night.

During a press conference, Cpl. Juan Madiedo mentioned that the detectives believe the victim, who came to the U.S. from South Korea to join the group in the summer, was in her 20s or mid-30s. The authorities have refrained from disclosing her name until her family is informed.

Madiedo revealed that the victim weighed a mere 70 pounds, with medical examiners attributing her death to severe malnourishment.

According to the investigators, Hyun had parked the car containing the woman’s body in the lot earlier that day. He then called a family member to pick him up and take him to an Atlanta-area hospital for treatment of unrelated injuries. When the family member returned to retrieve a personal item from the car, they discovered the body in the trunk and immediately called 911.

Hyun’s arrest warrant states that the woman’s body was burned, wrapped in a blanket, and placed in the trunk.

Madiedo added that the investigation indicates the woman’s body had been in the car for several days.

The police also conducted a search of a residence in Lawrenceville belonging to the Lees, where Hyun had visited and lived previously. The individuals involved in the crime have familial connections.

“We believe that the basement of the house served as the location where these individuals beat the victim and kept her captive until her demise,” Madiedo stated.

Authorities suspect that the beatings and malnourishment endured by the victim persisted for several weeks before her death. However, investigators do not believe she was sexually assaulted.

Additionally, due to their shared religious affiliation, the suspects also face charges related to their association with a criminal gang.

It remains unknown whether the suspects have legal representation. The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office stated that a court date has not yet been scheduled.
