Individual Allegedly Responsible for Deadly Shooting of Perris Resident

Law enforcement officials have apprehended a suspect believed to be responsible for the murder of a 31-year-old resident in Perris.

The arrested individual, Fredy Morales, was taken into custody on Wednesday and is now facing charges of murder in connection with the killing of Alberto Delgado Urista last month.

Morales was already in the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside on charges related to drugs and has now been formally re-booked for the alleged murder.

Currently, Morales is being held on $1 million bail.

According to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Ed Baeza, Urista was attacked on the evening of July 23rd at around 9 p.m. in the 300 block of Third Street, near F Street, located on the east end of Perris.

Witnesses at the scene reported hearing gunshots, and upon arrival, deputies discovered Urista with multiple gunshot wounds, as described by Baeza.

Urista was immediately transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later that night.

Sheriff’s deputies initially conducted a thorough search of the area for any potential suspects but were unable to locate any. However, over the following weeks, our homicide detectives diligently pursued leads that eventually led to the identification of Morales as the alleged perpetrator. Consequently, an arrest warrant was obtained, leading to Morales’ apprehension at the jail.

At this time, no further details regarding the investigation or a possible motive for the shooting have been disclosed.

There is currently a lack of background information available on Morales.
