Incredible Auction Sale: Microscopic Purse Sells for a Staggering $67K

The Microscopic Handbag: A Purse on Another Scale

Introducing the world’s tiniest purse, so small that it fetched a staggering price of over $67,000 in an online auction. Adorned with Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram, this miniature masterpiece was crafted by the innovative Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF. Surpassing its initial asking price of $15,000, this microscopic marvel has redefined the concept of handbag miniaturization.

“Smaller than a grain of sea salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle, this is a purse so small you’ll need a microscope to see it,” proudly exclaimed MSCHF in an Instagram post. With small purses currently in vogue, this purse takes the trend to whole new microscopic dimensions.

The Microscopic Handbag, measuring a mere 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers, is meticulously crafted out of photopolymer resin using two-photon polymerization technology. Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s popular OnTheGo handbag, this minute masterpiece was born out of MSCHF’s creative ingenuity, having not sought permission from the luxury fashion house.

“We are big in the ‘ask forgiveness, not permission’ school,” declared Kevin Wiesner, MSCHF’s chief creative officer, in an interview with The New York Times. To add to the allure, the bag comes with a microscope featuring a digital display, allowing the buyer to fully appreciate the magnificent details of their purchase. Sold on Joopiter, an online auction house established by Louis Vuitton men’s designer Pharrell Williams, this tiny treasure continues to captivate fashion enthusiasts worldwide.

MSCHF is renowned for their unique approach to crafting and selling items that challenge capitalism while simultaneously capitalizing on it. They once faced a lawsuit from Nike after modifying 666 pairs of Nike sneakers with Satanic symbols and real drops of human blood. The case was eventually settled out of court. More recently, they transformed four exquisite Birkin purses into sandals aptly named “Birkinstocks,” selling each pair for up to $76,000.
