I Refuse to be Labeled as a ‘Crystal Lady Shrew’

Marianne Williamson, a presidential candidate, recently returned to the US after spending a month in England where she became a proud grandmother. Now, she is back on the campaign trail and addressing allegations made by anonymous critics. These critics claimed that her previous presidential campaign turned her into an abusive boss who exhibited violent behavior towards her subordinates, such as punching doors and throwing phones. However, Williamson is unapologetic about her personality and directness, stating that if someone doesn’t like it, then her campaign wasn’t the right fit for them. While she acknowledges that being the president requires toughness, she clarifies that it’s not the kind of toughness her critics accuse her of having.

Williamson also addresses the recent departures of her campaign managers, Roza Calderón and Peter Daou. Drawing a parallel to Abraham Lincoln, she points out that Lincoln went through 12 generals before finding success with Ulysses S. Grant, suggesting that even great leaders face challenges with their team. She mentions that there are many people who have worked for her and have positive things to say about their experience. Moving forward, Williamson aims to demonstrate to voters that she is not a “crazy, crystal lady shrew,” but rather a serious candidate who is committed to achieving fundamental economic reform.

In a previous interview with the Guardian, Williamson emphasized the need for an economic U-turn to defeat Donald Trump. She advocates for policies such as universal healthcare, free tuition, free childcare, and guaranteed housing as a means of enacting substantial change, rather than settling for incremental changes proposed by the Biden administration. Despite her aspirations, Williamson’s polling numbers remain in the single digits, with only 8% of Democrats supporting her according to a recent CNN poll. The article also highlights that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received 20% support in the same poll. (Read more Marianne Williamson stories.)
