Remembrances for Rosalynn Carter: Complete Mourning Services in Plains and Atlanta
The nation, as well as Carter’s family, are set to honor Rosalynn Carter for three days in remembrance of the former first lady. On Monday, a motorcade, which included a ceremony at the Carter Health and Human Science Complex at Georgia Southwestern State University, made its journey from the Carters’ home of Plains, Georgia, to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta. There, Mrs. Carter’s remains will lie in repose.
The world is making preparations to honor former first lady Rosalynn Carter. Thousands of mourners are expected to attend a procession in Plains and a private funeral in the same area on Tuesday and Wednesday. A private event at Emory University, to be attended by former President Jimmy Carter, has also been scheduled. Furthermore, the public has been invited to visit the Carter Library to pay their respects during the several days.
The museum’s hours have been extended to accommodate the many visitors hoping to pay tribute to Mrs. Carter. During the ceremonies, former President Carter has also confirmed his participation, showing his love and dedication to his beloved wife.
