Humza’s Unforgettable Party Meltdown: Is his Time Running Out? – Written by Graham Grant

The countdown to the most important by-election in modern Scottish political history has begun, and the SNP is facing significant challenges. Rutherglen and Hamilton West, formerly represented by Margaret Ferrier, also known as ‘Margaret Covid’, is the seat up for grabs. Ferrier, who disobeyed coronavirus regulations, was removed from office by her constituents who were outraged by her blatant disregard for the law. This by-election presents another opportunity for the electorate to pass judgment on the SNP, and the result is expected to be unfavorable for the party.

Shona Robison, the Deputy First Minister, claims that a victory for her party would ‘send shockwaves through Westminster’. However, it would also come as a shock to the SNP leaders who are anticipating a less-than-ideal outcome. Humza Yousaf, the current minister, is living on borrowed time, overseeing a party in crisis with a track record of failure that is unparalleled in the world. Former supporters, such as Fergus Ewing, are now turning against him, with Ewing facing suspension for speaking his mind, a grave offense in Nationalist circles.

Kate Forbes, the former Finance Secretary, also seems to be aligning with the opposition. There are talks of a potential backbench rebellion, possibly led by Forbes, as disillusioned Nationalists explore alternatives to the SNP/Green Government’s policies. The toxic coalition with the Marxists has created internal discord within the SNP, eradicating years of unwavering obedience.

Yousaf is attempting to portray himself as an advocate for economic growth, despite being in a partnership with radical Marxists. His plans for progressive tax hikes have many individuals contemplating leaving Scotland to avoid the impending financial burden. Additionally, the focus on heat pumps, despite their high cost and inefficiency in densely populated areas, further exacerbates the challenges faced by the average Scottish citizen struggling with mounting household bills and mortgage payments.

The incompetence of Yousaf and his colleagues has reached unprecedented levels. Drug-related deaths in Scotland are the highest in Europe, and essential services such as education and healthcare are collapsing under the SNP’s governance. The party’s proposed solution of establishing clinics for supervised drug injection demonstrates a lack of foresight and perpetuates dependency. The only thriving industry in Scotland is the legal sector, profiting from public inquiries, even though the findings are routinely ignored.

Yousaf’s ambition to carry on Sturgeon’s legacy has been tainted by the Operation Branchform investigation. The £600,000 missing from party funds has led to the arrests of Sturgeon and her husband, Peter Murrell. Although they were released without charges, Yousaf is left to clean up the damage caused by the investigation, despite his contribution to the chaos. The party is now unraveling, as displayed by MP Lisa Cameron’s accusations of bullying and mistreatment by her colleagues.

While the SNP once presented itself as a progressive political movement, recent events have revealed a much darker side. Yousaf’s incompetence is evident in every portfolio he has been given, from justice to health. His only concern seems to be holding onto power at any cost, while peddling false hope to SNP voters regarding independence. The upcoming by-election may signify the end of Yousaf’s tenure and the decline of SNP hegemony after 16 years of failure and division.
