House GOP’s ‘Humiliation’ Will Stick in Voters’ Memories

The Biden campaign took advantage of the internal conflicts among House Republicans, which has left the chamber without direction, to highlight President Biden’s foreign policy focus on Israel and Ukraine.

“The self-inflicted chaos and inability to govern by MAGA House Republicans is in stark contrast to President Biden’s strong and steady leadership during this critical moment for global security,” said Ammar Moussa, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign.

Moussa added, “It is embarrassing that MAGA House Republicans allow internal sniping and infighting to hinder their collaboration with the president on bipartisan national security priorities. Voters will remember how President Biden stepped up while MAGA House Republicans humiliated themselves and failed the American people.”

For over two weeks, the House has been without a Speaker since Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was removed from the role with the support of eight Republicans, led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.).

Reps. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) have both been nominated for Speaker, but failed to gather enough support. A forum is scheduled for early next week to determine the conference’s next choice.

Biden and his aides have remained largely uninvolved in the House chaos, allowing lawmakers to handle the situation. However, White House and campaign aides have recently started to draw attention to the dysfunction of House Republicans, arguing that voters will reward Biden for focusing on the public’s priorities while the opposing party squabbles.

Following the terrorist attacks in Israel, Biden traveled there on Wednesday, and on Thursday, he delivered a primetime speech advocating for continued U.S. support of Israel and Ukraine in their conflicts with Hamas and Russia.

“House Republicans need to end their chaotic infighting and competition to out-extreme each other, and instead, join President Biden in addressing urgent priorities for American families that are shared by both parties in Congress,” stated White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates on Friday.
