House Democrat Delivers Harsh Reality Check to ‘Party Of George Santos’ About Schiff Vote

Representative Dan Goldman, a Democrat from New York, criticized Republicans for their “projection” as he derided party members ahead of the vote to censure Representative Adam Schiff, a Democrat from California, on Wednesday.

During his remarks on the House floor, Goldman called out Representative George Santos, a Republican from New York, while condemning an unnamed lawmaker prior to the vote to censure Schiff. Schiff had been one of the lead investigators in the first impeachment of President Donald Trump and a vocal critic of Trump.

“One of my colleagues says ‘We will hold members accountable.’ Well, you are the party of George Santos. Who are you truly holding accountable?” Goldman questioned, referring to the freshman Republican who recently pleaded not guilty to federal charges including money laundering, wire fraud, theft of public funds, and lying to the U.S. House.

“Who are you holding accountable? This person is an alleged liar and indicted. And yet, you protect him every day. Don’t lecture us with your projection and your defense of Donald Trump. It’s pathetic. It’s beneath you and beneath this esteemed body. And I yield back,” Goldman concluded.

“Boy, Adam Schiff must be incredibly powerful. He can simultaneously be the chairman of the Intelligence Committee, the special counsel investigating Donald Trump, oversee and operate the FBI, and act as a judge ruling on foreign intelligence applications,” Goldman sarcastically remarked.

“It’s truly remarkable that from his position in Congress, he can accomplish all of that. Of course, he didn’t actually do any of it — all he did was rightfully impeach the President of the United States for his egregious abuse of power,” Goldman added.
