Introducing “The Marvels,” straight from the creative minds at Marvel. Finally, after much anticipation, audiences have had their first look at The Marvels, the latest epic film to grace the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Premiered in Las Vegas, with press screenings in New York and Los Angeles, The Marvels release is right around the corner. Starring Brie Larson, breakout star Iman Vellani, and WandaVision’s incredible Teyonah Parris, The Marvels is a collaboration with Candyman genius Nia DaCosta and is set to hit theaters on Friday.
As the highly-anticipated sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, which managed to rake in an impressive $1.128 billion dollars worldwide, The Marvels faces a different landscape this time around. Due to abrupt changes such as the SAG-AFTRA strike, the film didn’t have the luxury of having its full cast available for promotional appearances. Additionally, without the immediate tie-in to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which previously built fan anticipation, The Marvels doesn’t harbor as lofty of box office aspirations.
Despite these unique challenges, The Marvels marketing has shifted gears, releasing a last-minute trailer showcasing the link between Captain Marvel and the Avengers, even featuring key scenes with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Josh Brolin from Avengers: Endgame.
