Current legislation in the UK and EU states that toys should contain no more than 0.1 percent of phthalates, but enforcement officers discovered a bow and arrow toy set with over 100 times the legal limit and a fashion doll set with 300 times the limit. This poses a significant danger to children who may put these toys in their mouths. The CTSI is urging businesses to be vigilant about sourcing safe products and for the government to take immediate action to improve safety standards.
