In May, while Abdullah and his family were away, a friend who was collecting a package in the condo detected a strong, irritating smell. This prompted Abdullah to install a hidden camera, capturing footage of Li inserting substances through a crack in the door on June 27.
Laboratory testing confirmed that the injected substances contained methadone and hydrocodone, both opioids. Li was subsequently arrested on charges of felony aggravated stalking, dispersing a chemical agent, and possession of a controlled substance. He also faces battery charges for exposing a law enforcement officer to the chemicals. In an interview with WFLA, Abdullah expressed his shock, comparing the incident to an attack with chemical weapons. Li has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney assures that all the facts will emerge in due course.
